Pottery Classes for Youth and Adults
Mondays: Pottery for All (family & friend oriented) from 4-6pm
Tuesdays: Pottery- Open Adult - all levels from Noon -2pm
Wednesday: Youth Pottery 4-6pm
Thursdays: Pottery – Open Adult - all levels of experience from 6-8pm
Saturdays: Beginner Pottery for Stress Relief and Relaxation from 5-7pm
Pottery for ALL (Mondays, 4:00-6:00PM)Looking for a fun art activity as a family or group of friends? This class is a great opportunity to work with clay at your own level but along side your favorite people. Share the good times this winter, spring or fall (summer by appointment). Create original pieces of pottery or sculpture using red, white or brown clay. We will fire it for you and if you want to glaze, you can come back for a relaxing painting session with our large selection of glazes requiring another firing. All materials are included and experienced instruction as needed. Shaping clay is therapeutic whether is be by hand or thrown on the wheel!Adult Open Pottery Class (Tuesdays, 12:00-2:00PM or Thursdays, 6:00-8:00PM) Open to all ranges of experience, this pottery class gives students the opportunity to make whatever they want. The instructor will help students create and advance their skills in both wheel throwing and hand building. Your heart rate and blood pressure lower, your breathing regulates, and your stress level naturally subsides as you immerse yourself in this primal art form. With a focus on process, this class can soothe the psyche and provide a much needed emotional reprieve. Let’s Draw Can’t draw a straight line? Don’t worry. Professional artist and graphic designer Felecia R. Weber will share her techniques to help you transform basic shapes and tones into your own stylized drawings. We invite you to “Come Draw With Us” during this six-week course and develop your creativity through drawing.Children's Book Illustration Remember how much fun you had as a kid? Why not relive those happy times now? Jotting down your childhood memories and illustrating them is a great way to start! Professional artist and graphic designer Felecia R. Weber will help you to use your own creative style to bring your childhood stories to life! Skill and age level appropriate projects developing painting, drawing, mixed media, ceramics, cutting, crafts, etc. Max 12 children, room for 1 parent at workstation.Afternoon/Afterschool Art: (Tuesdays- 4-6:00pm or Thursdays 4-6:00pm) ages 7-11Two hours of foundational art experiences for developing artists, individually based. Work in a studio environment pursuing your art interest, exploring techniques for drawing, painting and sculpture, have a chance to influence project direction and create original artwork. Ongoing classes Tuesdays and Thursdays, come both days or just one day a week. Make up times available.Youth Art Classes on Saturdays (2-4pm) ages 7-12This art class is for students that are missing in-person, hands-on art projects in a variety of forms. This class is a great opportunity to work with clay at your own level but along side your favorite people. Share the good times this winter, spring or fall (summer by appointment). Create original pieces of pottery or sculpture using red, white or brown clay. We will fire it for you and if you want to glaze, you can come back for a relaxing painting session with our large selection of glazes requiring another firing. All materials are included and experienced instruction as needed. Shaping clay is therapeutic whether is be by hand or thrown on the wheel!Adult Open Pottery Class (Tuesdays, 12:00-2:00PM or Thursdays, 6:00-8:00PM) Open to all ranges of experience, this pottery class gives students the opportunity to make whatever they want. Saturdays: Beginner Pottery for Stress Relief and Relaxation from 5-7pm
Pottery for ALL (Mondays, 4:00-6:00PM)Looking for a fun art activity as a family or group of friends? This class is a great opportunity to work with clay at your own level but along side your favorite people. Share the good times this winter, spring or fall (summer by appointment). Create original pieces of pottery or sculpture using red, white or brown clay. We will fire it for you and if you want to glaze, you can come back for a relaxing painting session with our large selection of glazes requiring another firing. All materials are included and experienced instruction as needed. Shaping clay is therapeutic whether is be by hand or thrown on the wheel!Adult Open Pottery Class (Tuesdays, 12:00-2:00PM or Thursdays, 6:00-8:00PM) Open to all ranges of experience, this pottery class gives students the opportunity to make whatever they want. The instructor will help students create and advance their skills in both wheel throwing and hand building. Come with ideas of your own or the instructor will give you project ideas at your skill level.Youth Ceramics (Wednesdays, 4:00-6:00PM)Youth Ceramics will receive instruction in basic slab, coil and pinch methods of hand building. Students are encouraged to express their creative ideas. Enjoy the small group interaction while making projects in a studio environment. (Wear a big art T-shirt that can get messy)Beginner Pottery (Saturdays, 5:30-7:30pm) ages 13+Experience the restorative power of clay in this course designed to enhance well-being while learning basic pottery techniques that will serve as the foundation for your pottery practice. The tactile experience of pottery is inherently meditative. Your heart rate and blood pressure lower, your breathing regulates, and your stress level naturally subsides as you immerse yourself in this primal art form. With a focus on process, this class can soothe the psyche and provide a much needed emotional reprieve. Let’s Draw Can’t draw a straight line? Don’t worry. Professional artist and graphic designer Felecia R. Weber will share her techniques to help you transform basic shapes and tones into your own stylized drawings. We invite you to “Come Draw With Us” during this six-week course and develop your creativity through drawing.Children's Book Illustration Remember how much fun you had as a kid? Why not relive those happy times now? Jotting down your childhood memories and illustrating them is a great way to start! Professional artist and graphic designer Felecia R. Weber will help you to use your own creative style to bring your childhood stories to life! Come discover for yourself that “ILLUSTRATING IS FUN” during this six-week course.Introduction to Painting This class is an introduction to painting for beginners - we will cover how to use the medium, tools, painting techniques, basic color theory, and painting from life. The latter half of the class will consist of a still life study to put all we have learned into practice. There will be demonstrations and practical work time in each class. Students will have the opportunity to explore many painting media, but may concentrate on one medium such as Oils, Acrylics, Watercolors, Ink, Gouache or tempera.Adult Art Open Studio (Wednesday)Need a break to pursue your creative self in a relaxing environment? Come join our Wednesday evening Art Studio. Each week will have a different art theme. For example: Draw, Paint, Sculpt, Design using our materials, expertise, storage, and workshop space. Steal time for yourself! Artist(s) will be available for instruction or guidance as needed. Individualized project development, collaboration options, resources to share. Work in a studio environment on your own creative idea and art medium. Store your ongoing projects here and utilize our optional showcase. Saturday Adult Arts GroupNeed a creative outlet? A time for you to relax, sip coffee and let the artistic ideas flow? Reawaken the artist in you and join instructor Beth Valitski for a variety of art experiences by interest: ceramics*, painting, oil painting, pastels, drawing techniques, colored pencil portraits (guest artist) and others by request. Claywork has been our favorite this year!Come make ceramics or sculpture and then switch off for a satisfying morning of painting or drawing.
