Intro to Summer Foraging Foray
Friday June 2,2023 from 4:00PM-5:30PM
Discover the vibrant greens, yellows, oranges, and reds of the summer season as we identify wild-edibles in the landscape. We will take a wild-edible plant ID walk around the property and discuss foraging etiquette, sustainability, and anatomy used to identify plants. Then we shall try some seasonal foraged refreshments which may include, but are not limited to Daylily pickles, Black Walnut Liqueur, Sumac Lemonade, Wildflower cupcakes, and Pepperweed Salsa with chips (dependent on seasonal availability). During the tasting portion, participants are welcome to create their own tea blends utilizing locally-foraged plants that are designed to cool the body and regulate our internal temperature during the coming warm summer months. All refreshments, dried plants for tea, tea pouches, and Materia Medica templates are provided.
A $15 materials fee is due to the instructor at the start of class.
