Wildflowers of Winter Hike & Botanical Illustration Workshop
Hike to explore the incredible adaptations and functions of winter wildflowers! After this hike to measure, observe, and photograph winter wildflowers such as Skunk Cabbage, Witch Hazel, Snowdrops, Forsythia, and others, warm up with coffee as we blend the arts and sciences through botanical illustration. Participants will learn how to compose subjects for illustration, how to "grey wash" with colored pencil to add dimension and depth, and to practice some techniques to accurately portray these beautiful plants. Participants do not need any prior natural science experience, however they should be comfortable with beginner artistic concepts (shapes/color theory/blending colors).
$10 materials fee payable directly to the instructor the day of the class.
