Shining Knights Chess

Knights, captures, action!
Whether you are new to the game, learning to push pawns for the first time, or have played in numerous tournaments, and want to sharpen your skills, come to a Shining Knights Chess Camp! We have trained numerous state champions and national trophy winners. We have trained even more kids to enjoy the game that they can spend hours playing with friends and family. So, whether you want to win games in your living room against your parents or win tournaments in other states, come join us and learn how to play chess or play better chess! 


VIRTUAL CHESS CLASSES
All lessons will be delivered by ZOOM. Campers must establish an account with www.chess.com at no charge in order to play each other remotely.

BEGINNER Virtual Chess Classes  
10 virtual chess classes delivered via Zoom designed for children 5 to 10 years of age that are new to chess.  This introductory class shares the basics of piece movement, setting up the board, rules of the game, chess etiquette and simple strategies.  Basic information that will prepare students to challenge parents and friends.  Lots of opportunities to play games with other students.  


INTERMEDIATE Virtual Chess Classes 

10 virtual chess classes delivered via Zoom designed for children 5 to 13 years of age that are familiar with the basics of piece movement and rules of the game.  The class is geared toward players rated 400-800 although a rating is not necessary.  Curriculum will include opening and endgame strategies, piece development and opportunities to play games with other students.  


ADVANCED Virtual Chess Classes  
10 virtual chess classes delivered via Zoom designed for children 7 to 15 years of age that are ready to advance to in-depth checkmating combinations.  Geared toward players with tournament experience rated 800-1200, although tournament experience/rating is not a requirement.  Curriculum will include discussion of advanced endgame positions and review of Master Games.  Lots of opportunity to play games with other students followed by game analysis.
