AFRICAN SAFARI WORKSHOP- July 6-10 from 1:30-3:00PM
Go on a Safari adventure with Young Rembrandts this summer! We will explore the exciting land and many animals that inhabit Africa. In five days we will draw a variety of animals in various scenes with different media. To keep things exciting, we will explore the African Safari through the fun technique of cartoon as well. Our exploration through Africa allows for a bounty of adventure and creativity.
ENCHANTED ACADEMY SUMMER WORKSHOP- July 13-17 from 10-11:30AM
Be prepared to be whisked away to an enchanted academy where nothing is as it seems. Experience the majesty of the great dining hall as our students illustrate a beautiful graphic. Amuse yourself in the not-so-ordinary life of the academy with a plethora of cartoon drawings. This stylish Young Rembrandts workshop is tailored for the aspiring fashionista. Join us for 5 days of runway chic as we illustrate the various aspects of fashion design. ART HISTORY WITH THE MASTERS WORKSHOP- July 20-24 from 1:30-3:00PM
This Young Rembrandts workshop is full of possibilities! Join us for five days of fun as we learn about and explore art history by studying different artists and their work. Each day we will create one drawing- wonderful artwork being inspired by Edvard Munch’s The Scream, Vincent Van Gogh's Harvest at Le Crau and Claude Monet’s Regatta at Argenteuil. CARTOON ADVENTURES IN SPACE WORKSHOP- July 27-31 from 10-11:30AM
Join Young Rembrandts as we travel to the farthest reaches of the galaxy in our Cartoon Adventures in Space workshop. Futuristic scenes of other worldly adventures highlight the spectacular drawings our students will produce. We will join our own colorful cast of cartoon characters, like Sketch the mouse, Shade the cat and Dave the elephant. Not only will our students learn how to illustrate science fiction-inspired characters and moments, but they will also strengthen their drawing and coloring skills. From astronauts in jetpacks to out-of-this-world alien lifeforms, our students will learn how to compose well-drawn cartoon figures in dynamic poses. YOUNG REMBRANDTS AT SEA WORKSHOP- July 27-31 from 1:30-3PM
Grab your goggles and your sense of adventure- Young Rembrandts is taking you on a colorful, seafaring voyage! Students will begin this workshop by drawing a tropical fish graphic. We’ll give our scene pop and dimension using fundamental patterning techniques and bold color choices. On Day 2, bring your giggles as we learn to cartoon! We’ll learn to add expression and movement to bring our sea characters to life in this multi-drawing session. Day 3 taps into our new skills as we draw a bigger-than-life graphic cruise ship. KINGS AND QUEENS OF THE CASTLE DRAWING WORKSHOP- August 3-7 from 10-11:30AM
Join Young Rembrandts as we travel back in time to the Middle Ages for our Castle Workshop. Princesses, knights, castles, and even dragons highlight the spectacular drawings our students will produce. Not only will our students learn how to illustrate period-specific characters and scenes, but they will also strengthen their drawing and coloring skills. PATTERN AND DESIGN-A WORLD TOUR WORKSHOP- August 3-7 from 1:30-3:00PM
Explore multicultural art in our Worldly Artistic Designs workshop. We begin our world tour in Mexico as we draw several welcoming, colorful doorways. Next, we journey to Africa and explore the design intricacies of African crafts. Our artistic enlightenment doesn’t stop there; we’ll move on to design Paisley patterns, an ancient design embraced by many cultures. Then, Asian paper lanterns will shed light on the Far Eastern design styles. Our travels end in Russia as we illustrate a mainstay of Russian architecture – the onion dome.
ROCK OUT! WORKSHOP- August 10-14 from 10-11:30AM
For every child who dreams of partying like a rock star, Young Rembrandts offers its Rock Out! workshop. It’s five days of artistic, rock and roll imagery. During the opening act, students will draw stylized instruments. And the party never seems to end as we illustrate close-up portraits of rock stars on the second day. Then it’s time for a change of tune as we create rock-inspired cartoons on the third day. Rocking-out musicians will be the headlining act on the fourth day. PIRATE WORLD WORKSHOP- August 10-14 from 1:30-3:00PM
Ahoy mates! Join us as we explore the world of pirates with new drawing adventures! Pirates, treasure maps, sunken treasures, parrots, a grand pirate ship and more will inspire us as we draw, using cartoon and realistic drawing techniques. Kids love drawing our playful, expressive characters and will complete several drawings each day using the unique Young Rembrandts drawing method. SKETCH AND FRIENDS UNDERWATER ADVENTURE WORKSHOP- August 17-21 from 10-11:30AM
Underwater exploration comes to life in this 5-day cartoon workshop. Follow our four cartoon characters as they explore the deep blue sea. Students draw the cartoon characters in their underwater sea station, draw jokes about life on the job and illustrate other crazy encounters with Sketch and his animal friends. Cartooning techniques like expression, sequencing and scenic development are just a few of the hilarious lessons learned all workshop long.

CLASSES for AGES 10-15
MAGNIFICENT MASTERS WORKSHOP July 13-17 from 5:30-7PM
This Young Rembrandts’ Magnificent Masters workshop will focus on five different artists. Each day, we will create a large, original pastel drawing replicating a famous artist’s masterpiece. We will draw a colorful goldfish bowl as Henri Matisse did in his Goldfish painting. On day two, we will recreate Vincent Van Gogh’s famous Starry Night complete with swirls throughout the sky. On day three, we will create powerful still life full of robust color as Paul Cezanne did often in his paintings. Day four will find us drawing Andre Derain’s Portrait of Matisse. On the final day, we will draw as Thiebald did for his Cake Paintings. Each day will challenge us with the pastel media. But in the end we will be Masters ourselves. You will want the drawings framed! No experience necessary.
