4-H Garden Explorers Camp

Spend an active couple of days exploring, digging, planting, and harvesting your way through the vegetable and flower gardens at Locust Lane Farms. Explore each step needed to grow a healthy plant, and learn how soil composition, water and sun play an important role in the health of a garden. We will discuss good and bad bugs and how they affect the gardens and prepare a delicious snack using fresh ingredients from the garden. Participants will create container garden and wildflower arrangements to take home. Participants should bring a water bottle and should wear comfortable clothes with closed toe shoes, sneakers preferred.

If you have a child over 12 who would like to participate please contact the DARC office.

The program will be led by Penn State Extension’s Master Gardeners and 4-H leaders.
