Learn to Ice Skate @ Power Play Ice Rinks
Have fun while learning the fundamentals of ice skating. The Learn to Skate Program is open to individuals of all ages; children through adult. No previous skating experience is required. Each class consists of a 30-minute group lesson and a 30-minute of a supervised practice session. Each student may bring one parent on the ice during their practice session for a small fee. No siblings or friends may be on the ice unless registered in the class. Skate rental is included in the cost of enrollment.
"Thursday Tots- Learn to Skate" this class is set up to teach your 4-6 year olds to learn to ice skate.
New for 2021!
"A Different Skate of Mind" - for ages 17 and older. This program consist of a 45minute supervised practice session each class. You will learn the basic fundamentals of ice skating in a mature, adult only environment, where no previous skating experience is required. This is the perfect opportunity to learn the skills and give you the abilities to assist your children when taking your kids ice skating on a local pond or ice skating at the Rockerfeller Center rink in New York.
Due to the safety of participants, staff and families since COVID-19, students may only bring one adult parent/guardian on the ice during their 30-minute practice time for a fee. No siblings or other coaches instead of a parent!! Remember the Helmet Rule.
Helmet Rule: children under the age of 7 years are required to wear a bike or hockey helmet. Power Play Ice Rink does not loan helmets. You may purchase one in the rink pro-shop.
Learn to Skate Notes:
- HELMET RULE: All children under the age of 7 are REQUIRED to wear a bike or approved ice hockey helmet. We do not loan out helmets!
- Dress warmly (coats, sweatshirt, long pants, gloves are recommended).
- NOTE: DIFFERENT FEES FOR SESSIONS DUE TO DIFFERENCE IN NUMBER OF CLASSES.
