Spectacular SmartPhone Photography! In-Person Class

One of the biggest misconceptions is that you can't take serious photographs with a smart phone. Today's smart phones are quickly catching up with the technology in advanced DSLR cameras. But, as with any camera, a person can take great or poor photos. We will provide you with the knowledge and techniques so that you can use your smart phone to take pictures that are so amazing that no one would even believe you didn't use a professional DSLR.
Dates: Wednesday, April 14, 2021 and April 21, 2021 from 6:30PM-9:00PM

     – Amazing Beauty in the Abandoned and Decaying (Lukens Steel)
Join us for this unique opportunity to photograph inside the abandoned and decaying rolling mill of the former Lukens Steel Company. The facility started operation in 1793 and has experienced many changes over the years. We will be exploring the “120-inch rolling steel mill” that was abandoned decades ago. Inside the 90,000 sq ft facility there are many stored pieces of the destroyed New York’s Twin Towers as well as some old machinery and locomotives. The decaying building itself provides many fantastic photographic opportunities for those with a creative eye.  New this year: We now have access to the “Powerhouse” as well. Release of liability required. This event is rain or shine.
Meets:  Saturday, April 24, 2021 9AM-Noon

– Pennhurst Asylum – abandoned, decaying and haunted!  Pennhurst State School and Hospital, originally known as the Eastern Pennsylvania State Institution for the feeble-minded and epileptic was an institution for mentally and physically disabled individuals of Southeastern Pennsylvania. After a much controversy, it closed on December 9, 1987. We have been granted permission to photograph this historic site that has been abandoned for 30 years and is in a state of decay. Many say this place is haunted by the souls of those who once resided there. Unique photographic opportunities are around every corner.  Now is the time to take this workshop as developers recently purchased the property and is likely to be demolished soon. DSLR or Mirrorless camera and tripod with remote release recommended. Liability release required.
